Shanghai Waigaoqiao Bonded Logistics Zone
Shanghai Waigaoqiao Bonded Logistics Zone is the first pilot program of integrated free trade zone and port in China under the approval of the State Council and a key modern logistics zone in Shanghai during the “10th Five Year Plan” that enjoys the preferential policies for bonded zones and export development zones. On April 15, 2004, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Bonded Logistics Zone passed the acceptance examination by the General Administration of Customs. The zone has a total bonded operation area of 1.03 square kilometers. It is expected to be completed by the end of 2006, and has a total investment of RMB3.3 billion.
Shanghai Waigaoqiao Bonded Logistics Center Co, Ltd takes charge of the construction, project management and business operation of Shanghai Waigaoqiao Bonded Logistics Zone. The company was jointly founded by Shanghai Waigaoqiao Group and Shanghai International Port Group. Its total registered capital is RMB400 million. The company has the qualifications of real-estate development, port operation and international freight forwarder. It provides all-round supporting services to enterprises in the bonded logistics zone, including warehouse rental and sales, office rental, business consultation, agent registration, customs declaration and commodity inspection, public warehouse, transportation and inspection service, using of machinery, cargo handling, container terminal operation, property management and logistical support. The company is planning to build a 140,000 square-meter container yard and a 700,000 square-meter modern logistics warehouse, which could handle 1 million TEU of containers annually.
